Yungas Safari (One-Day or Two-Days/one-Night)

The Calilegua National Park, 150 km to the north of the city of Salta, in Jujuy Province, features the most accesible place containing extensive, well protected areas of Yungas or Montane Cloud Forest in Argentina.

Our Safari takes us up through the Park on a winding road, from the Valley of San Francisco to the Caņas mountain pass at an approximate altitude of 1700m.
Our guided walks along the forest paths will lead us to pristine areas of lush vegetation, streams, pools and cliffs, which afford wonderful views and good opportunities for finding rare and shy birds like the Antpitta.

The rugged terrain and high humidity are partially responsible for the great biodiversity of this subtropical mountain forest, which is home to a valuable fauna ranging from large predators such as the Jaguar and the Solitary Eagle down to the tiny hummingbirds and endemic amphibians.
Evening views from the top of the Calilegua Range, over the breathtaking Cloud Forest will leave you with unforgettable memories.
